Paris, France in 24 hours
In my opinion you don’t need more than 24 hours in Paris to get the full experience. Paris to me is overrated, dirty, and more expensive than necessary — if you’re trying to find a destination for your first trip to Europe there are definitely better options! That being said I would still make sure to visit Paris at least for a layover once in your life.
Monuments to Spot
Luxor Obelisk
Given to France by Egypt in the 1800’s as a token of friendship and gratitude
Louvre Museum
The worlds largest museum and houses beautiful art pieces such as The Mona Lisa
Arc de Triomphe
Honours those who fought and died for France in the French Revolution & Napoleonic Wars
Notre-Dame Cathedral
A symbol of peace, and togetherness — currently getting rebuilt from the fire of April 2019
The Eiffel Tower
The face of Paris. Visit the Eiffel Tower every hour starting at sundown to watch it sparkle for 5 minutes
Bonus Stops to Make!
Catacombs — 29€ (audioguide & skip the line included) — the catacombs were essentially made as a cemetery overflow in the late 18th century. Spiral down 131 steps to see bones and skulls and learn about what life was like 300 years ago.
*note: definitely buy skip the line tickets or you will be waiting hours to get in! And don’t forget to get your audioguide at the door!Palace of Versailles — €19.50 — one of my favourite parts of Paris was taking the 40 minute train ride to Versailles to explore the former royal residence built by King Louis XIV. Here you’ll see beautiful structures, art pieces, and of course the garden.
Thrift Shopping — another underrated part of Paris not many people think to check out is thrifting! Some shops to check out are Hippy Market, Kilo Shop, and Tilt Vintage 4th.
